StoryPals - Blu Chapter 1

Blu and the Day That Changed

Emotion: Feeling unsure when things change (and finding safety inside yourself)

Blu liked knowing what came next.

Wake up.
Breakfast.
Walk.
Nap.

Blu wagged his tail when things stayed the same.

But today was different.

Very different.

The door opened early.
The air smelled new.
The sounds were louder than usual.

Blu’s ears drooped.

“This isn’t the plan,” Blu thought.

Blu stayed close.
Very close.
So close his tail brushed against a familiar leg.

But then—
the leg moved away.

Blu froze.

His chest felt tight.
His paws felt stuck.

“What if I don’t know what to do?” Blu wondered.
“What if I miss the old way?”

Blu sat down and waited.
Waiting always helped.

But the day kept moving.

Blu took one slow step forward.
Then another.

The floor felt strange.
The sounds felt big.
But Blu kept breathing.

In.
Out.

Blu found a quiet spot and curled into himself.
He listened.

Tap-tap.
Buzz.
A laugh.

Blu lifted his head.

Someone smiled.
Not rushed.
Not loud.
Just kind.

Blu’s tail moved—just a little.

Blu stood up.

The day wasn’t the same.
But Blu was still Blu.

Later, when the sun began to rest, Blu felt something new.
Not fear.
Not worry.

Comfort.

Blu learned something important that day:

Even when plans change,
Even when the world feels different,
You can still feel safe—
because you come with you.

That night, Blu curled up and sighed a happy sigh.

Tomorrow might change too.

And Blu would be ready.
